Some of you may be sing this old fashion Christmas song a little differently, but what else would make you "jolly" other then a diamond ring glistening from the ring finger on your left hand. We read an amazing fact the other day – 26% of all engagements occur in the month between Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Talk about pressure!
Every woman wants an exciting engagement story to share with her friends & family since she will be asked about this moment over and over and over again. So guys, with that being
said we decided to provide you with a few tips so you don't botch the whole thing.

1. THE RING: There are 4 C's of diamonds - Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat and how to use these ratings to get the best diamond ring for your money. Gentleman please don't buy your ring from a shopping mall. In the older days it was customary for the guy to simply pick out the ring by himself. Today, it is becoming more and more common for the couple to go together. Whichever way you go about buying the ring, become educated with how to buy a diamond.

2. PLAN AHEAD: This is not the time to just wing it. Engagement proposals should be a little unique and you can draw on your past experiences with your fiancée or take someone else's engagement idea and make it your own. Think it through first, you don't want something like this to happen.

Reed drove her to the hospital to find out if she did indeed swallow the ring and she did. 3. ESTABLISH A PLAN: Hooray! You’re engaged! Here’s what to do next (you know, right after you call your mom). These are 5 things that should be done right after she says yes.

A- Call all family and friends: No one likes to find out from facebook & twitter so make sure you update family before blasting it to the world.

B- Set- a Date: After “congratulations” and “let me see your ring,” here’s the first thing people will ask: “When’s the wedding?” It’ll save you lots of headaches if the two of you come up with a vague-yet-specific answer, like “We’re shooting for early 2012” or “We like the idea of next fall.”

C- Start a Wedding Saving Account: No one wants to start the road out in debt & with today's economy who can blame them. Remember that even a simple, small wedding costs money (and sometimes a lot more money than you would ever imagine). A wedding savings account is an easy way to keep cash accumulating for the big day, so you don’t have to rely on plastic to bear the brunt later on.

D- Start a Guest List: Before you start putting a number on how many guests you want, it's time to ask both your parents about whom they'd most want to invite. This number plays a big part in the rest of you planning, such as, how big of venue do you need, how many tables, centerpieces, flowers, linens...The list goes on.

E- Relax: No matter what, try not to stress. Everything doesn't have to be done right away unless you are planning a wedding for a couple of weeks out, then you better step on it! Enjoy being engaged. No one likes to see the beautiful bride to be turn into BrideZilla. We are all aware that it is your special day, but really it's all about the marriage!

Utah Flash Invites Community to The 2011 Season Draft Party: NBA Development Team Hopes Eight Recruits Will Bring Utah Flash Finals Victory

Lindon, UT – The Utah Flash, Utah’s local NBA development team, will announce the 2011 basketball season’s draft picks and roster at Noah’s in Lindon, on Monday, November 1^st, starting at 5 pm. Eight rookie players will be announced and fulfill Utah’s NBA development, “D,” league.

The Draft Party is a free event, to be catered, and the Flash Dancers will entertain guest’s, consisting of season ticket holders, fans, the public, current players, and the owner of the company.

“Eight new players will complete this season’s Flash roster,” said Brandon Walker, Corporate Sales Executive of Utah Flash. “Last year we made it to the finals and lost. This year we want to win.” said Walker.

This is the Flash’s fourth season. There are currently 16 teams in the “D” league, from coast to coast, and NBA scouts are at every game, looking for their next team’s talent. Utah Jazz player, Kyrylo Fesenko, from Ukraine, spent most of his rookie season playing with the NBA development league, Utah Flash.

Anticipation builds as Noah’s sets its Westminster, CO, construction agenda in stone. Last Monday, October 11th, launched the building process. All site work will be finished by Monday, October 25th. The foundation will complete on Monday, November 15th and framing will begin on Thursday, November 18th; expected to take three weeks until framing is accomplished.

We foresee Westminster’s opening date to transpire on Friday, May 20, 2011. Unveiling our most novel venue to an array of communities within Westminster, CO. Within a matter of months, Noah’s fifth building is predicted to open on June 24, 2011, providing the public of Irving, TX, a venue for all life’s events.

The question is what are we noticing in relation to our guest’s reactions to Noah’s national growth? Our staff in Utah and Arizona has recently experienced an interesting reaction to Noah's national growth. The word is spreading, and patrons are booking out of state facilities from their home locations. This provides evidence that Noah’s is developing recognition as a national brand.

It is safe to say we are seeing an tremendous amount of excitement as we continue to expand and build the development of a national trademark.

Angel’s Hands Foundation Treat Deserving Parents of Children with Rare Diseases to a Date Night- Its 2nd Annual Appreciation Event

Angel’s Hands Foundation (AHF), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for Utah families with children that have rare diseases, will have its second annual Date Night on Saturday, November 6^th, at Noah’s in South Jordan, located at 322 West 11000 South, South Jordan, UT, from 6-11 pm.

“Parents with sick or terminally ill children rarely have an opportunity to go out and enjoy themselves,” said Mark Kristensen, husband and founder of AHF, with his wife Roxanne. The Kristensen’s lost their son Matt to a rare disease in December of 2002, but “AHF continues to grow and support Utah families. We have worked with over 100 families that have children with rare diseases, and about 30 families with children that have undiagnosed diseases,” said Mark. “Our son was the inspiration, and now it’s his legacy.”

Angel’s Hands second annual Date Night will consist of live entertainment by The Dueling Pianos from popular downtown Salt Lake City bar, Keys on Main. Adult members of AHF and the foundation’s corporate sponsors are the 250 guests expected to attend the event.

My Sisters’ Place invites community to attend event on Nov. 6: Children- The Silent Victims of Domestic Violence

Chandler, AZ – My Sisters’ Place hosts the inaugural Children – The Silent Victims of Domestic Violence, on Saturday, November 8, at Noah’s, to raise awareness and inform all ages about preventing women and their children from domestic violence.

The afternoon of awareness and fun includes age-appropriate information and activities for all ages, a fire truck, snacks and an appearance by the Phoenix Suns Gorilla. The event also honors those that have made a difference in the lives of women and their children fleeing domestic violence with a short awards presentation at 12:30 p.m.

“Since 1985, My Sisters’ Place has been helping women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence,” said Laura Toussaint-Newkirk, spokesperson for Catholic Charities. “We are one of only two confidential domestic violence shelters located in the East Valley and we want to help our community—in a fun and interactive way—to prevent domestic violence.”

The event is free, but monetary and non-perishable food donations will support the work of the shelter.

“We are proud to have provided nearly 6,000 nights of safety to 355 women and children fleeing domestic violence last year,” said Newkirk

The South Jordan Community Theatre Presents 2nd Annual Fund-Raising Gala & Costume Ball

The South Jordan Community Theatre to host its 2^nd annual Fund-Raising Gala & Costume Ball on Friday, October 8^th, at Noah’s in South Jordan, from 6-11 pm. “Expected to reach similar if not better numbers than last year, an approximate $15,000,” said Gala Chairman, Grant Thomas.

“The money raised makes a small dent in the total cost of our four-season production,” said Thomas, “But really it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the year’s productions, and debut scenes from the soon to be running, Little Shop of Horrors.”

The Gala & Costume Ball, an adult only affair, will feature a gourmet dinner buffet, dancing, entertainment, and a silent & live auction. The entertainment, to take stage at 7-8 pm, will highlight previous production performances, and preview scenes from the theatre’s first major production of this season, Little Shop of Horrors, running October 15^th-Noveber 1^st. Raising Special Kids Announces Assistive Technology Forum

Raising Special Kids, a non-profit organization of families helping families, will host a free Assistive Technology Forum Saturday, September 18, 2010. The event will be presented by professionals and will include information about high and low-tech technologies that can enhance the lives of children with disabilities and special health needs.

Carrie Swearengin, Family Support Specialist, says “The mission of Raising Special Kids is to provide parents of children with the full range of disabilities, from birth to 22 with parent support, training, information, and assistance to help parents become effective advocates for their children. Our services are provided to families free of charge, in English and Spanish.”

Registration is required by September 17^th. Check in begins at 7:30 am at the new Noah’s of Chandler. The educational forums, consisting of professional therapists with specialized training in assistive technology, will take place 8 am-2 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be included. “This is a day event for families that have children with disabilities, aged birth through young adulthood. “The annual fundraiser is a gallery stroll, by award-winning photographer and cancer survivor Chad Hurst, who tells the featured survivors courageous stories through portraits of strength,” said UCREW Executive Director, Philip Brown. Hurst was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the age of 21.

On April 17, 2010, at Noah’s Lindon, from 8-11:30 PM, S.M.U.G. Dance is anxious to provide the ‘movers and shakers’ of Lindon and Pleasant Grove, UT with quite the social gathering. The night will consist of a performance by renowned band, “Proving Ground,” followed by a dance, DJ-ED by S.M.U.G. All proceeds will be donated to The American Red Cross Mountain Valley Chapter’s efforts to aid the victims of Haiti and Chile’s natural disasters.

Collin White, sophomore student at Lone Peak high school, is one of S.M.U.G.’s popular DJ’s, and a strong-minded 16 year-old, determined to make this festivity a success. White states, “At first the event was meant to raise money for the people of Haiti, but when the earthquake in Chile hit, we knew we had to do more. We’ve decided to donate all raised money to The American Red Cross, who will take the money and help the two countries in need.”

Jessica Nelson, resident of Salt Lake City, UT, arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, apprehensive and ready to change someone’s life. Little did she know at the time, it was her life that would be profoundly changed, forever.

Nelson came to Noah’s hoping to receive a donated room to host the Amazi event. After listening to her touching story, the Noah’s corporation was eager to help the cause she is so passionately involved.

Nelson states, “The estimated cost to build the new orphanage is $30,000 U.S. By owning the orphanage outright, with the land surrounding, they’ll be able to plant and harvest much of their own food. In this new setting the children will experience a much greater quality of life. 100% of all proceeds from this event will go directly to the building fund. There are no administrative costs with this fund-raiser.”

Amazi International is hoping to raise $20,000 and expects prominent members of the community to participate.

The night will consist of a presentation that will take place from 7:30 to 8:15 PM, with musical entertainment to follow. Local singer/songwriter, Katherine Nelson will perform a new song she has written specifically for the children of Nepal. Other artists will perform throughout the evening. The doors have yet to open, and Noah’s, a new events venue opening to the public of Chandler, AZ and surrounding areas, are showing no hesitation when it comes to booking their future events with the fresh and unique facility.

August 2, 2010 is the official opening date. According to Kate Jensen, who has been in charge of sales and managing the opening of the Chandler building since April 2010, “The Building is coming along beautifully. I have been told that all of the sprinkler systems have been installed, and all of the pots have been placed. Now that we have water the landscapers will begin putting all of the grass and plants into place. By the end of this week we should have the majority of the light fixtures up, the bathrooms should be complete, and the Air Conditioning finally turned on. It is starting to get very exciting around here.”

The financial goal, which Noah’s has chosen not to disclose, has been reached, and many more brides have tours booked, and are leaning towards having their weddings, birthday parties, reunions, corporate functions and more, at the novel venue. AMERICAN DIABETES THROW EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL EVENT FOR YOUNG KIDS - Teaching Children To Manage Their Diabetes During A Two Day Camp

On Friday, July 15, 2010 and Saturday, July 16, 2010, from 9 am-4pm, the American Diabetes Association of Utah are hosting a two day educational and social event for kids with diabetes between the ages of four and seven at Noah’s South Jordan.

The theme is “Around the World,” highlighting America, South Africa (Because of the World Cup) and China. Dancers from South Africa will perform for the children, and arts and crafts will be constructed at each country’s station. My Gym, a workout facility is Salt Lake City, are demonstrating to the children exercises that are fun for kids to do on their own. To keep the activities current, they are including a gold medal event, giving the kids a chance to win a medal of their own. Also, educational sessions will take place teaching the kids about healthy eating and what they can and cannot eat.

According to Beverly Bartel, organizer of this particular diabetes event, “The goal is to help children’s self esteem, and teach them ways to take responsibility for their own diabetes management, and learn social skills while still taking care of themselves, starting at a young age.”

July 9, 2010 – The Utah Chilean Community of Utah are proud to honor and celebrate their culture’s independence and expansion of their community within the Utah regions. Not only are they commemorating their country’s 200 years of independence, but are dedicating their rejoice to their family and friends that are struggling with the damage and impact the earthquake in Chile has caused.

The event will take place at Noah’s South Jordan from 7-10 pm, with music and dance entertainment by performers from Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Mexico, to provide the evening with the appropriate cultural flare. Also, a benefit concert by popular Utah singer Peter Breinholt will kick off the event and perform until 8 pm.

The Utah Chilean Community debuted their presence in Utah in 1998, but did not become a formal organization until 2009, where the committee registered with the state and became a non-profit organization.

Norberto Castro, the President of the Chilean Community, has stated, “There are already 1,400-1,500 people expected to attend our event.” Hence, this was two weeks ago, and Castro would like to “Invite people to be part of this effort to help raise money for the earthquake in Chile.”

Kids On The Move is a company based in Orem, UT. Two mothers started the organization in 1986 that both gave birth to babies with Down syndrome, and realized that there were no resources in Utah County for their kids to get a deserving head start. Now, 23 years later, Kids On The Move continues to grow and helps approximately 1,400 kids a year, between the ages of 0-3 years old. Last years annual fundraiser raised $200,000, and this year, with the current economic turmoil, auction items have been more difficult to come by, but President of the Board of Trustees, Nadeem Ahmed, the base of the Utah Islamic community for the past 20 years states “This year we are expecting 200 guests, and are open and welcome to the public’s participation.
