The South Jordan Community Theatre Presents 2nd Annual Fund-Raising Gala & Costume Ball

The South Jordan Community Theatre to host its 2nd annual Fund-Raising Gala & Costume Ball on Friday, October 8th, at Noah’s in South Jordan, from 6-11 pm.  “Expected to reach similar if not better numbers than last year, an approximate $15,000,” said Gala Chairman, Grant Thomas.

“The money raised makes a small dent in the total cost of our four-season production,” said Thomas, “But really it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the year’s productions, and debut scenes from the soon to be running, Little Shop of Horrors.”

The Gala & Costume Ball, an adult only affair, will feature a gourmet dinner buffet, dancing, entertainment, and a silent & live auction.  The entertainment, to take stage at 7-8 pm, will highlight previous production performances, and preview scenes from the theatre’s first major production of this season, Little Shop of Horrors, running October 15th-Noveber 1st.  Gala tickets are $30 per person or $55 per couple.  “All proceeds will contribute to our four-show season, ranging between $26,000-$40,00 for the cost of one production,” said Thomas.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.sjtheatre.org, or at the door, but reservations must be made prior to the event with Grant Thomas, 801.979.0704.

The South Jordan Community Theatre is a non-profit organization “Dedicated to providing the community of South Jordan and surrounding areas a resource of commitment to family values, through quality theatre and family-friendly performances,” said Thomas.   The community theatre originated in 2007, and since then, a total of 13 productions have been performed, and approximately 400 actors have made them all a reality.
